That new house smell…..

Do houses have a “new” house smell?  You know, like the new car smell when you are driving it off the lot?

I hosted an open house today and it smelled brand new.  It was a quaint house, a resale, a used home.  But when I walked in, it smelled as if it were new. It had been updated but it was still a 10+ year old home that had multiple families living in it through out the years.  It was bright and airy, with lots of natural light.  Was that the cause of the “new” smell?

I really wasn’t sure, but I could see a new family, a newly married couple, a set of aging parents wanting to downsize making this adorable house their home.  The new house smell would be an added bonus.
